Somewhere right now on the West Coast there's an immaculate part fastened to its’ host among a field of discarded vehicles. The part is desperate to be free before time runs out and ends up crushed, shredded, and loaded onto an east bound freighter. Or worse, the part is shattered into flakes and falls like confetti into an industrial waste pile. 

Truckee Surplus is the agent that loses sleep knowing this part must reach its rightful owner to once again provide utility and joy. Like surgeons we identify the A-grade used auto part, perform the extraction, carefully handle it, and care for the part like a newborn. Next, we showcase the lucky part to the planet via the "world wide web" just like Steve Jobs said it would happen in 1995. If you decide the part is for you, we will make sure it arrives damage-free. But this state-of-mind is just the price of entry to be a successful global merchant in the 21st century. Now there is a bigger cause taking place at Truckee Surplus.

Truckee Surplus is committed to the life and legacy of Leo Mikelonis. Leo was the oldest of two brothers and the son of Jon Mikelonis who formed Truckee Surplus in 2017. In 2019, at age 13, Leo provided the insight that encouraged his dad to go bigger with what was then just a side project. Today, Truckee Surplus is the ONLY project and ships over 10,000 lbs of used auto parts a year. On January 28, 2025 we lost Leo unexpectedly in an incident wrought with evasion and disregard. Every order fulfilled by Truckee Surplus is done so in his memory, to his level of excellence, and for the awareness that the human conscience is the source of every individual's unique purpose.
